SWRDA Invites Pro-Nuclear Toff to Teach us how to Glogalise

More SWRDA Maddess

SWRDA, the unelected quango with its fingers in many of the most major decisions in the region, has invited Digby Jones, aka Baron Jones of Birmingham aka Sir Digby, to Bristol to answer the question, "Are South West companies making the most of Globalisation?"

SWRDA (South West Regional Development Agency) has invited Baron Jones of Birmingham down to the South West on the 18th March to talk about making globalization work. [1].

One of the SWRDA drones said, "This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the south west's economy for the future opportunities, and threats, that globalisation presents. I'd urge everyone with an interest in unlocking the region's business potential to take part in this event."

And Sir Digby knows a thing or two about globalisation. He opposed the minimum wage; that whopping £5.22, presumably on the grounds that if we pay the proles a fiver here, then we can't compete with the third world wages of a fiver a week? Digby knows about low wages as he has gone from earning a TINY a seven-figure salary to just a few hundred grand as a neo-labour minister.

He knows about globalising cash, as he has opposed any taxes of the super-rich foreigners living the high-life here in the UK [2] after all, why should billionaires have to pay £30K in tax? The shame of it...

He is a man that knows the Unions are sooooo over, "They are an irrelevance. They are backward looking and not on today’s agenda." [3] (With Digby and his ilk looking out for the workers from the neo-labour government, why would you need a union? duh!)

And he knows when it comes to energy policy, more Nuclear is great [4] and the government should NOT take a lead in combating climate change, as it impacts on our ability to globalise; "The CBI's Director General Sir Digby Jones said the UK government must not take a strong lead on climate if it left British firms facing mandatory emissions cuts when firms in the USA, China and India were exempted."

What a nice man and a BIG thanks to SWRDA for inviting him here to teach us how to globalise HIS way.
