June sees refugee week, to raise awareness of the plight of the millions of people displaced due to war, environmental devastation and economic collapse. Following the ethnic-cleaning of their country in 1948, Palestinians now are the single largest refugee group in the world. Bristol Indymedia is pleased to premiere the third film by local director Ed Hill looking at the continuing injustice in Palestine.

This personal and moving documentary tells the story of ten people, from the Bristol area, who go to Palestine to help with the olive harvest during the autumn of 2007. Told in their own words, it recounts their experiences on the trip, from the hospitality of the local farmers to the injustice on the Israeli occupation in the West Bank. It shows how ordinary people can transcend the boundaries of international politics to meet on a very human level.

This film is the third eye-witness documentary made by Bristol-based film-maker, Ed Hill. His previous two films have been hugely popular at screenings in Bristol and his work has been awarded 'DVD of the Month' in Palestine and have been shown on national UK television as well as on the Islam Channel.

The documentary premiere will be introduced by the director and the evening will include a presentation by the Bristol group. People interested in more information on the olive harvest trips, or wanting to join the team-building for the trip this autumn, can make contact at this event or email - Bristol.Nakba60@yahoo.co.uk
