Upcoming film screening in Bath

category bath | globalisation | event notice author Tuesday June 10, 2008 17:40author by Matt Banning - Bath Activist Network Report this post to the editors

We have two films screening this coming Sunday lunchtime, the 15th, at the Porter Cellar bar on George Street, as part of the monthly 'Bubbling Under' series:

The first will be a screening of J18 the Carnival Against Capitalism of 1999, where activists shut down the city of London for the day, and considered by some the emergence of the anti-capitalist movement in Britain.

The second will be the documentary Climate Camp Heathrow '07 - an insider's view into last year's Camp for Climate Action, taking on the aviation industry, climate change and climate justice.

To follow will be a presentation and discussion on this year's coming Camp for Climate Action in Kent this year, battling against the fossil fuels industry, and the next generation of coal-fired power stations represented by Kingsnorth, as well as a welcome to Westside niehgbourhood.

Screening from 1pm til 4pm, and entry is free, as usual. This will be the last in the current run of Bubbling Unders until September, when BAN folks will once again re-emerge from their tents.
