What is your peak Oil plan?

Peak Oil is coming, maybe not this year, maybe not this decade, but within my lifetime.

Given that western-style capitalism needs oil to sustain it's constant growth, and that we all eat oil;

The future is likely to look very different (forget hover cars, think horse and cart!).

What can the community in Bristol do to ensure a peaceful transition to a post-oil economy?

One thing we could do is to engage with the transition movement in Bristol

Together we need to develop a post-oil infrastructure before things start to get really messy and fucked up. We can't really expect the state to manage this transition. We have to develop parallel structures that gradually become strong enough to support the community. These structures need to be independent of the Oil/capitalist/state infrastructure.

The good news is that people are really resilient and adaptive. We can do this. We just need to start now.
