Yesterday evening two dogs attacked a cat on Thomas Street, St Pauls. The injuries were horrific and the cat has been put down.

The dogs looked like Staffordshire Bull Terriers. One was brown/black mottled, the other white/grey. The dogs were with a tall black teen male and two young teen girls. One of the particularly alarming aspects was that the cat had hidden and one of the girls removed it from its hiding place and threw it to the dogs. Neither of the dogs were on leads.

I have seen them many times in the area and have found out that they are well-known for being aggressive and have attacked both dogs and cats on this street. They have never been seen on a lead.

I have reported the incident to the dog warden who is unable to take action because we don’t have an address for the dogs.

There were a number of witnesses who have reported the incident.
