category bristol | peace | feature author Friday October 24, 2008 11:21author by imcvol Report this post to the editors

At 8pm on Friday, the last two protesters came down from the roof, after 38 hours.

messenger writes; following last thursdays noise demo/ roof occupaton...there back! sketchy details: 8 arrested yesterday (thurs) 4 still on roof 24 hours later (!) the building is closed this morning. anyone able to support address is Unit 510, bristol business park, opp. UWE frenchay campus. fairplay to those involved. Full article. (Image, Picture of the last two protesters after 34 hours)

Target Raytheon offers some background on the protest: Consignments of Raytheon GBU 'bunker buster' bombs have recently been transported via UK airports to Israel. These horrific weapons can kill literally hundreds of people with one strike into an urban area. Israel has already been using these in densely populated areas of the Lebanon. Most 'bunker busters' have a devastatingly high explosive power making them the most deadly of 'conventional weapons'. Some use depleted uranium, leaving toxic pollutants, which cause illness and death for years. Full article from August 2006.

nickleberry writes; The two on the roof wanted me to tell you all that Raytheon should expect protest every Thursday. Full article and pictures of the protest.

We're in Palestine at the moment and cannot describe how good it is to hear that people are protesting against the bastards that enable Israel to kill countless people.
