Bristol Radical History Week at the Cube tonight

Bristol Radical History Week starts in earnest tonight with an evening entitled 'Regicide And The English Revolution' at the Cube Microplex. The speakers are renowned human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson QC who'll examine the first trial of a head of state - Charles I, and how this groundbreaking moment in history opened the way for the trials of Augusto Pinochet, Slobodan Milosevic, and Saddam Hussein.

Also speaking will be BBC film maker Colin Thomas who'll be looking at the influence of the Leveller movement on the development of British democracy.

Starting time is 7.30pm and entrance is £3/ £4.

Tomorrow attention turns to political assassins as controversial author Matt Carr looks at the anarchist plotters of the late 19th Century.
