87 Ashley Road Eviction Resisted: Police and Bailiffs Fail to Evict Squatters

Updated! As Text Message writes; They've been up there for a week! To draw attention to the continuing roof top occupation of 87 Ashley Road there will be daily demonstrations outside from 4pm-6pm. At 10am on the 12th November police and bailiffs attempted to evict the squatters at 87 Ashley Rd, but several residents resisted eviction by occuping the roof. The authorities then smashed up the property to make it uninhabitable. Squatter writes; [those on the roof] seem to be in good spirits, have plenty of people giving them support on the ground . we have our own mobile incident support unit on the scene. no police at the moment, but security with a couple of dogs inside the house. be good if people could be their as early as they can tomorrow morning.
