re-scheduling of big peace gig in glastonbury

Sadly the bad weather meant that Mid-Somerset CND Peace Group had to cancel their Peace Gig in Glastonbury on Feb 6th, but the good news is that they will not only re-schedule a big gig for later in the year but in the meantime they are putting on a scaled down version at their social event in Wells on Monday March the 2nd.

The night will feature many of the musicians booked to play at the February gig. These include popular lively singer/songwriter Helena, veteran teenager Liz Ounsted, and members of the traditional Irish folk band The Black Velvet Band.
They are also making the night an open mic night – which means that any of you out there who want to come and sing or play a couple of numbers are very welcome – and although it’s not obligatory, as it’s a peace event, it would be lovely if some of your material could be peace related.
There will be a grand raffle with lots of great prizes – first prize being two tickets for the Glastonbury Extravaganza – hopefully to be drawn by Glastonbury Festival Organiser Michael Eavis.
The Peace group will also be providing a finger buffet. (contributions will be gratefully received!)
Any money raised on the night will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), which works for the health of Palestinians (especially in conditions of occupation, displacement or exile) based on principles of self-determination and social justice.
The Peace Event will be upstairs at Beah’s Restaurant next to Union St car park in Wells, on Monday 2nd March at 8pm. All welcome! For more information call Helena on 01761 233517
