BNP Event in Gloucestershire Called Off Due to Protests

category gloucs | protests | news report author Tuesday March 10, 2009 10:25author by antiBNP Report this post to the editors

A meeting of the British National Party at a hotel in Gloucestershire had to be called off after protesters heard about the gathering. Great news!

The BNP's EU campaign in the West got off to a damp-squib start under the catchy slogan, "Jetzt kann jeder für eine britische nationale Partei wählen" (Now everyone can vote for a British National Party) when it could not even book a campaign event under its own name for fear of cancellation and protest, trying to pretend to be a 'heritage' organisation instead.

After the venue realised who was coming it cancelled and the a local put that was to be a backup also refused to hold the event leaving the whole sorry affair a huge wash-out and embarrassment.

Many people rightly fear the BNP has anything but legetimate democratic aims; Nick Griffin’s chief lieutenant Tony Lecomber was convicted and imprisoned for three years for five offences under the Explosives Act after he tried to blow up the offices of a political party. Police found hand grenades and detonators at his home. Despite this the BNP kept him on its payroll for over ten years. He was eventually forced out of his job after he approached Joe Owens to kill a leading politician.
