Bristol one of the world’s top ten cities to visit in 2009

Seen this? Apparently Bristol is named in a guide as being one of the top places to visit in 2009 - judge for yourself...

Story from here;
As the only UK city named within the list, Bristol will now feature in the DK 10 guidebook series. Other cities selected include: Buenos Aires, Gdansk, Washington DC, Vienna, Cape Town, Copenhagen, Fes, Seattle (USA) and Vilnius.

Bristol was commended for its strong shopping offer, following the opening of Cabot Circus, and for its growing status as a ‘green’ destination, after it was named the ‘most sustainable city in Britian’ and selected as the only UK nominee for the title of ‘European Green Capital.’

John Hallett, managing director of Destination Bristol, says: “Bristol is an exciting city to visit right now. The DK Eyewitness Travel Guide commendation is not only evidence that Bristol is becoming one of the most talked about places in the UK, but it is also recognition that the city is well on its way to achieving something special on both a European and international scale.”
