Vigil for Ian Tomlinson

EDO decommissioners are calling a vigil on Saturday 25th of April for Ian Tomlinson who was pushed and brutally beaten by police at the G20 protest in London and as a consequence died of a heart attack.
The police officer who hit Mr Tomlinson is currently suspended from the force, no doubt on full pay.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the said officer was part of the Territorial Support Group and video evidence suggests he was wearing a balaclava under his riot helmet.

Matters are now in the hands of the 'independent' Police complaint commission (IPPC) who is looking at video evidence and calling for witnesses. However when the IPPC accused the Metropolitan police force of organisational failure in it's handling of events that led to the execution of Jean Charles de Menezez on Stockwell underground station in 2005, it's recomendations were ignored.

As we all know no one was brought to trial for the murder of the young Brazilian man. Will it's recomendations be acknowledged this time?
Doubtful!

Police tactics in London were appalling as people were targeted both by the Bank and in the climate camp.

Police actions were not accidental or indiscriminate but tactically designed to prevent future protests .
