Ashley News update - lots of interesting stuff.
From Jon Rogers email:
(2) The monthly PACT meeting is this afternoon Monday 1st June, 4.30pm
at the St Pauls Learning and Family Centre, 94 Grosvenor Rd Bristol, BS2
8XJ Come and agree police and neighbourhood priorities. Also the drop-in
is at the café at 6pm. Next one is on Monday 6th July same time and place.
(3) Our current resident PACT priorities are St Pauls. It was agreed
that the generic parking priority can be removed as complete. The
following are the revised priorities
(a) Harassment and racial tension in St Pauls park and St Pauls Gardens
(b) Parking on the Cycle lane on Gloucester Road
(c) Negative graffiti - Safer Bristol lead on this issue
(d) Parking on Grosvenor Green - BCC Housing lead on this issue
(4) Dog fouling. Dog wardens can fit signs to lamp-posts advising the
dog owner to clear up after their dogs and to keep their dog on a lead.
Let me know or email dog.warden@bristol.gov.uk if you know of a suitable
lamp-post! Another change is that dog waste can now be placed bagged
into street waste bins as dog waste has been downgraded from hazardous
waste to nuisance waste.
(5) "Ask The Agencies" - The next "drop in" problem solving meeting is
on Thurs 16th July 2009 6pm - 7:30pm at St Pauls Learning Centre on
Grosvenor Road, St Pauls. Open to all residents, organisations and
businesses in Ashley ward. Details at http://www.stpaulsunlimited.org.uk
Future dates, same place and time Thurs 24th Sept and Thurs 19th Nov
(6) The new school on the Brunel field was formally approved at the Lib
Dem Cabinet meeting on Thurs 30th April. Labour's cancellation delayed
the opening to 2010.
(7) The paddling pool in St Andrews Park is now open. Hooray! The wild
flower meadow was seeded last week. Hooray! There was a lot of litter
left over after the wonderfully sunny and busy weekend. Boo!
(8) Transition Montpelier are holding a meeting next Wednesday 10th June
