Through a period of research and experimentation, Alialani will chart a very
personal and internalised form of dissent – investigating what can be called insanity, an 'inner' retreat from 'real' life. Touching on withdrawal as a form of protest, monasticism, alternate realities, quasi-science and mythical icons of popular consciousness, fragments of our work will be pin tacked to a noticeboard outside Plan 9 on Bridewell Street throughout the project. These scribbles, specifications, lists and notes will then be confined to a logbook at the culmination of our research.

To accompany this research there will be two themed film events at Plan 9 - the theme on Weds 29 July is 'Asylum'
