Delivering Action!

The UK’s postal workers have been the most militant workforce over the last decade. They now face a new threat of part privatisation from Lord Mandelson. They will be a key target as the cost of rescuing the banks crunches public spending.

Bristol Anarchist Bookfair and Kebele Economics Groups present:

Delivering Action!

Dave Chapple , chair of the Bristol Branch CWU will talk specifically about current struggles in the Royal Mail, in which Bristol is playing a key role, with 21 strike ballot requests waiting to be acted on in Bristol Delivery Offices alone; 160 London offices on strike on June 19th, and another 100 plus ballots in the rest of the country. Clearly, whether the industry is privatised or not, Royal Mail workers are not going to roll over easily....

We also hope to discuss how we might support postal workers when they are forced to take action - particularly those of us who are not in strong union branches.

Thursday July 9th 7:30 PM at Kebele , 14 Robertson Road, Easton
