Local posties have been resisting the BNP by many of them refusing to deliver the flyers, now they are fighting for jobs - lets support 'em!

Postal workers at the Royal Mail depot in Montpelier have today voted 7-1 in favor of taking strike action in response to Royal Mail introducing drastic job cuts. Over 100 workers are employed at the depot and a date for strike action will be announced in the very near future.

The strike will mean that no deliveries will take place in either the BS6 or BS7 postcode areas of Bristol and is in addition to the strikes that will occur this Saturday in the Clevedon, Yatton and Bridgwater depots.

David Wilshire Branch Secretary of the Bristol & District CWU said “this is an amazing vote in favor of strike action especially given the intimidation from managers who have urged people to vote no.”

David went on to say” Postal Workers in North Bristol have voted to reject further cuts, reject bullying and protect the long term service to the public”

Workers at an additional 20 Royal Mail delivery depots as well as those at the giant Processing Centre at Filton and Distribution depot at Severn Beach are also about to be balloted for strike action.
