Attempts At Eviction Imminent at Vestas

More Hands on Deck Please Support needed from Bristol Activists

This morning the court granted Vestas PLC the possession order it sought for the factory where workers are currently in occupation fighting to save their jobs, and save the environment. There were suggestions about half an hour ago that bailiffs were already inside the building, which now seem to have been an attempt to demoralise the occupiers. However, this court decision means that the eviction is now imminent but the occupiers are not planning to give up. They now need all the support they can get.

It is hard to call when exactly the bailiffs will enter, or when police may try to evict the occupiers but it seems clear from activists down vthere that an increase in numbers is needed from this point forward.

A group of people describing themselves as ‘from Climate Camp’ have also occupied the roof of another Vestas facility in Cowes in support of the workers and have vowed to stay put until the sacked workers are reinstated, and the factory is reopened

A bus of around 20 Londoners went down to Vestas last night, and we will look at organising another for as soon as possible but the quickest way to get there is under your own steam!

We will send a further update when the situation is clearer.
