Capitalism isn’t working. Despite talk of “recovery” we are still facing the biggest economic crisis for generations. Millions are being thrown out of work, while war and poverty ravage the globe.

Politicians and mainstream economic commentators have no answers to the crisis.

Over 150 years ago Karl Marx analysed why booms and slumps are part and parcel of capitalism. Not only was he grappling with how and why economic crises develop but also with how such a brutal, unequal and exploitative system could be challenged.

Key to Marx’s understanding of the world was how capitalism creates its own “gravediggers”, the global working class, the very force capable of challenging the rule of profit.

Come along to this rally, hosted by the Socialist Workers Party, to discuss
the relevance of Marx’s ideas today.
