by Fighting the [twisted] arms trade

Last week I attempted to write a piece amout arms taders in our community centres.
Well, I'm very sorry to say that there's good reason they chose deprived areas inhabitated by refugees, many of whom are fleeing from war torn lands to do there 'team building' exercises in.
BAE's guilty conscience is down to the fact that their latest evil, destroying work has resulted in yet more murder.
BAE are continuing to make a killing out of war and human suffering.
Again and again they sell arms to countrieswith appalling human rights records and the UK's government is allowing these deals to go through.
It's criminal how much support the government gives to companies who are complicit in such atrocities.
Act against BAE Bristol - these arms dealers are NOT WELCOME.
This time it is down to the armoured vehicles that they happily sold to the Guinean regime.
Why do we allow these arms dealers to walk freely in inner-city Bristol?
Surely - in the light of unarmed demonstrators being raped and massacred by 'security' forces all international transfers of weapons, munitions and policing equipment should be halted?
The demonstrations took place in late September.
Amnesty international has released evidence of Mamba armoured personnel carriers [APCs]' supplied by a company currently owned by UK defence giant BAE Systems, were used in last months attacks.
http://palestinian.ning.com/profiles/blogs/un-goldstone...tideo footage & photographs show the use of APCs by Guinea's security force during the brutal attacks in Conakry.
Ten Mamba APCs were sold to Guinea in 2003 by Alvis OMC, which is based in South Africa, then a subsidary of British company Alvis and now a subsidiary of British based BAE Systems.
These vehicles were used to surpress a demonstration on September 28th.
They were used again in an attack on a funeral for the people killed at the demonstration.
I call upon my fellow Bristolians to demand a freeze on all arms transfers to Guinea and to prevent BAE Systems from supplying parts, undertaking repairs or providing follow-on equipment to these bastards.
The latest government review of British arms export controls rejected calls from Amnesty International and others for british owned subsidiary companies operating overseas to be regulated by British arms export controls.
The parlamentary select committee on arms export controls has ALSO called for greater controls on overseas subsidiaries of British arms companies.
Mr Sprague continued, "An arms trade treaty that does not prevent international arms supplies to those with aq persistant record of grave human rights violations will be a worthless gesture."
Unfortunately - Bristol is the home of many large arms dealers.
That,s why it's up to US to stop these bastards profiteering from this bloody carnage.
The knock on effects are monumental.
