Over two hundred people packed the Council House at the end of September for the launch of the Bristol-Gaza-Link Association. We were delighted to receive all-party support. Our aims are non-political grass-roots people-to- people links. The main focus will be Gaza City, but links with other parts of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, or the Palestinian Diaspora are also possible. The main areas covered will be humanitarian, social, educational, and cultural. We welcome support from all the communities of Bristol and everyone is welcome to attend our open committee meetings.

Already a large number of groups in Bristol are working on linking with partners in Gaza. These include staff and student university groups, colleges and schools. A choir and a football-team. Professional & Trade Union groups including ambulance crews, fire-fighters, and film-makers, a community radio-station. Plus Christian and Muslim faith-groups.

Visit our official website at www.bristolgazalink.org for more information. A link-button also that takes you to our innovative “social-networking” site at http://bglink.ning.com. Take a moment to become a member and then you can exchange information with everyone else on the site - these include a growing number of people in Gaza including the Mayor! If you are searching for a link-group, you can ask these people yourself.
