by one of no borders - No Borders

Picket at Trinity road police station - where migrants in Bristol are forced to 'sign on'.
(and if it's raining or chilly - we have umbrellas and hot tea!)

Held every other Tuesday - 8.30am-10.30am
Every month, fortnight or week migrants (often including entire families) without 'secure status' are required to sign on at Trinity Road police station. Sometimes they don't come back out, as inside UK border officials wait to take people away for indefinite detention at one of the notorious immigration prisons or immediate deportation, often back into extreme danger.
The only 'crime' is traveling to the UK fleeing war, famine, persecution or searching for the chance to work for a better life.
We call for people to come and stand in solidarity with those oppressed by the state and to demand freedom of movement for all!
In the picket we want to show our solidarity, to create links between people who wish to stand against injustice; be they migrants, activists or those who wouldn't consider themselves either. We want to give any practical advice or assistance we can to those who need it, and most importantly to confront the oppressive UK border reigeme - because it negatively affects ALL our lives.
