Guidelines???

category bristol | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Wednesday November 25, 2009 19:12author by @rchie Report this post to the editors

Hi I am posting here because the story I was about to comment on has been taken down,

In the “hidden stories area” it says that the story “UEA climate fraud email story censored by Bristol Indymedia” was taken down because it was “disruptive” now I feel slightly frustrated because I had just penned a couple of posts responding to the flat earther.

Now I completely understand why the original article (UK University exposed in Climate Change data fraud) should be taken down but surely a reasonably vigorous debate about why surely isn’t too disruptive.

Both myself and Anarchist 606 were making robust rebuttals of the story and I was about to defend anarchism to the conspiraloon. I’m not afraid of defending either anarchism or the facts of climate chaos to anyone and sometimes wish that we could develop some forums where these debates can be had publicly. If people of an Indymedia bent are making the flat earthers look like the nut jobs they are then surely that's a good thing?

Ooh well I guess I’m just bitter cos I didn’t get my comments published

And I know the admins have a hard thankless task but maybe we need a bit of discussion about the guidelines...........
