Save the Black Swan!

The Black Swan in Easton is a well known and well loved music venue. It is cheap to hire and holds a good sized crowd - as such it has been used for benefit gig like Bass Not Bombs, Circus to Iraq as well as fronting some of the worlds (yes worlds!) top tallent in drum'n'bass, breakcore, dubstep and punk. However it's been shut down and this is a huge blow to Bristol's music scene...

There is a petition: The black swan is an important venue in bristols underground music culture , it may not be the nicest looking place but places like this are where the likes of massive attack and roni size came started out .

We believe the hearing was conducted without involving any of the many many patrons who love this venue so is not a fair representation of the bristols views .

You can sign it here! http://bit.ly/5xnS7L

(Hat hip to Bristol blogger who tweeted:"BCC closing underground music venues: http://tinyurl.com/ybfpess but cashing in on underground music: http://tinyurl.com/yesrpsv")
