What do young people think?

With the recent riots/disrurbances it seems all the pundits in the media are suddenlty experts on what the youth living in poorer areas think.  Here's a novel idea - asking them...

St Pauls Unlimited and Places for People recently partnered with Jamafrique, Full Circle, Docklands Youth Centre and the St Pauls Adventure Playground to carry out a bit of research focusing on Young People in St Pauls. We wanted to find out what challenges are facing our Young People and how they feel about the opportunities that exist for them in St Pauls.

A summary of that research can be found here. If you are a local organisation working with YP and you’d like to try and find some more specific information about particular groups we surveyed please get in touch.

Good one.

But where precisely could you be able to find films made by local voices about the ongoing situation as well, for example? So much must have been filmed, written, cartooned and generally created over the last 6 months now, it would be great to pull it all together like with a wiki or something, to spread understanding ever more widely, maybe?

An interesting fact, and one left out of the wikipedia entry on the subject, is that the St Pauls riots occurred in April 1980, a year before the riots in the rest of the country.
