Israel’s claim of “making the desert bloom” is often used as a justification for it’s colonisation of Palestine and displacement of it’s indigenous people.  But the reality has proved to be very different.  Succeeding Israeli governments have pursued policies of expansionism, industrialisation and urbanisation that have damaged centuries of sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry.

Speaker Marian Connolly is a Palestinian supporter who has visited permaculture projects in the West Bank and has an interest in climate change and sustainable development.
