Austerity and the Working Class in Britain Today.

Economic Crisis and the ‘need’ for Austerity has become the excuse for the ruling elite to attack the working class and roll back the clock on the welfare state. In the process ordinary people are losing their jobs, and anyone on benefits is demonised as unworthy. This meeting examines the reality of working and non-working life behind the statistics. It assesses the impact of welfare cuts on ordinary peoples’ lives, and discusses how we can fight back against the ideological offensive of the government.
