This Saturday Kebele infoshop presents a “nothing to do with xmas”, anti consumerist winter sale of pamphlets and zines. We’re hoping for a mass movement of radical literature so we’ve made some cuts of our own. We have stacks of pamphlets and zines for 50p. From radical history to vegan cooking and anarcha feminism to international struggles, the shelves are exploding with revolutionary ideas. Whether you’re looking for interesting insights or insurrectionary incitement, you may well find something you like. Light up those long winter nights with some inflammatory reading material! There’s a lot of things we have to get rid of in this world. Our pamphlets and zines are amongst them! Come and get some!
The sale runs from 11am-8pm!

"anti consumerist winter sale "

Your "anti consumerist" event is itself consumerist because you are charging money. Within Anarchism the exchange of information should be free with people invited to contribute what they can in exchange for what they need.

You are talking about the state of communism that will exist at the end of the anarchist struggle. There is nothing in the Anarchism i know ("Black Flame" Anarchism) that would have a problem with people charging costs.

It wouldn't have a problem either with voting, unions, eating meat, rules & regulations, rights and responsibilities, crime and punishment, employment contracts, the NHS, or state benefits, but maybe that discussion for another time and place!

Sorry, Anarchist, I forgot that humourous banter and light-heartedness were also anti-Anarchist. I must of missed the bit where Kropotkin and Bakunin outlawed fun!

Lot of postings on this site promoting Kebele.
Sounds like they're really up 'em selves.

Regretfully there is a lot of this "anarchist capitalism' going on.

Lloyd what are you on about?
We post on this site and we're in the blog feed. Does that make us up our selves?
Isn't the point of this site to help publicise things that don't get in the mainstream media?
Have a word.

The rare time of year when many people are in good spirits.

When the country's economy gets a boost (resulting in more tax so more money in the benefits kitty)

Retailers taking on more temporary staff & putting money in unemployed people's pockets, albeit short term.

But hey, it doesn't fit into the idealistic anarchist's fantasy world so let's have a pop at that too.

Come the revolution Santa & The Elves will be first against the wall, I guess Rudolph & the Easter Bunny will be fairly safe as they're non carnivorous animals that have been exploited by humans.

charging 50p for a zine, which is probably less than the cost of photocopying is not capitalism. charging a couple of quid for a meal made by volunteers, to fundraise to keep a community space open, is not fucking capitalism. Nobody profits financially from events at kebele. Know the difference between "covering costs" and "profit".

Lighten up midfield terrier, huh? Thats the trouble with you vegan types, always so serious and boring!

Do we know what the carbon footprint of these so-called-pamphlets are? "Idiots!" :0)

Covering costs? Like paying council tax, water rates and electric or do they have council baliffs calling, collect rain water and have solar pannels?

You are paying for more than paper and printing, trust.

actually, rumour has it that kebele is actually a front group set up to bankroll the rovers' upcoming forays into the transfer market in order to avoid plummeting to the darkest depths of the blue square premier. Watch out Wimbledon, Rovers are bringing Ricky Lambert back!

New stadium? HA HA HA HA!

Up the hierarchy of oppression we go!
When we recognise our own privelige!
This is what we'll sing!
Kebele! Kebele! Kebele is King! (or the non-gender binary direct-democratically-elected equivalent)

Follow! Follow! We all follow Kebele! etc.etc.
