![]() With bad winter weather hitting Britain hard, conditions on Britain’s roads are getting treacherous, particularly for users of mobility scooters who are all too often left vulnerable by poor visibility and slippery surfaces. Help My Mobility, an organisation providing news and information to users of mobility equipment, has decided to take action by offering hi visibility vests to their readers, free of charge. It is hoped that the vests will help to reduce accidents involving mobility scooters by keeping users visible while they are out and about. Company director Jason Tate explained how the Help My Mobility team hope to make a real difference with the provision of the hi vis vests; “The winter brings with it a whole host of problems for road users. Many mobility scooter users may not realise how vulnerable they can be on the roads in winter,” he said. “Only last month we brought our readers a particularly upsetting story about a woman who had been knocked off her scooter by a lorry in Derby and was sadly killed. This story is not an isolated one; road users need to do all they can to protect their own safety and that of others.” The fluorescent jerseys will be offered to readers on a first come first served basis.
