Public Meeting: Is Midsomer Norton at Risk from Fracking?

Thursday 7th February 2013  7 – 9pm

Midsomer Norton Town Hall, The Island, BA3 2HQ

Speakers and a Question & Answer session

  • What is Hydraulic fracturing (fracking)?
  • Coal Bed Methane?
  • Unconventional Gas Drilling?
  • What are the potential risks to our communities?

Midsomer Norton is an area covered by a Petroleum Exploration and Development License, (PEDL.) PEDL licenses are sold by the Government to companies wishing to drill for unconventional gas. This puts our local area at risk of water and air pollution.  There are also dangers to human and animal health.

You are invited to come along to find out more about the science, the drilling methods and the possible impacts of unconventional gas drilling on your family and community.
