BAE Systems - new drone technology with ultra res spy cameras

category south west | peace | announcement author Wednesday January 30, 2013 13:19author by Bristol anti arms campaigner Report this post to the editors

BAE Systems Bristol (aka death dealing warmongers) have confirmed for the first time their US funded 'argus' ultra high resolution spy camera has been fitted to its Taranis drone and is being used over the UK in "co-operation" with the police.  The BAE Bristol death centre confirmed this week that Avon & Somerset Police were the first police force to be invited to view the "security options" that the system offers.

The 'argus' camera system is designed to provide the very highest level of resolution allowing military commanders the ability to 'target' (mark for murder) those individuals unable to recognise the 'democracy' that has been bought to them however the news that this war technology is now in the hands of the police who presumably are using it to spy on those of an activist mindset ("long hair, eating a Veganburger, take a closer look constable") is very worrying.  There is no oversight of this technology and NATS the UK Air Traffic Control provider has already voiced concerns about military and 'security' flights that are happening without their knowledge.
