Women for Women are holding our third celebration of women’s achievements and talents for women and children as our contribution to Bristol’s International Women’s Day 2013.
Our last event attracted over 300 women – we plan to make this year’s event bigger and more exciting. We’ve brought together most of Bristol’s women’s associations and some of the city’s foremost thinkers and activists to create a day full of fun, interest and entertainment.
We’re planning music, drumming, Zumba and belly dancing, workshops on calligraphy and flag making, Reiki sessions and an array of delicious food from all around the world. There’ll be a chance to mingle, to hear women’s ideas, and to try something new!
Speakers will include community elder and activist Mrs. Princess Campbell, campaigner and Ujima presenter Paulette North, trainer and writer Rissa Mohabir and Dr Christien van den Anker, Director of UWE Human Rights Unit.
The event is free (small donations would be welcome). We’ve arranged community transport from three community locations and a free crèche for under-5s. Please note that transport and places in the crèche need to be booked by MONDAY 4 MARCH.
