Petition to WG asking that MTAN2 and 500m buffer zone around opencast mines by made mandatory

I'm looking for help to publicise our petition to WG.

We're a small group fighting a proposed opencast mine and know of many more in the South Wales Coalfields fighting the same battle. We have cross party support and our local council has turned down the proposal but WG are about to overturn the decision. Following a Public Inquiry in Jan 2012, the outcome of which we are still waiting for, in a report that is as yet unseen by us, to the  Minister for Environment, he has been  "minded to allow" the application.

 We thought we'd go straight for the WG and ask that the  MTAN2 recommendations they made in 2009, particularly the 500metre buffer zone around opencast mines, be made law as they have the power to do this. We hope our endeavours will make a difference to the whole of Wales and not just our little valley, which we have fought valiantly for but may be about to lose the fight. Not over yet though and we have unanimous support from Councillors to continue to reject the proposals and wide Community support.
