Hugo Chavez was immensely popular. His government funded social reforms in health, education and housing, driven by rank-and-file missiones. He was anti-imperialist and told the world that George Bush was a donkey! He has left behind, in the form of 21st Century Socialism, a practice and discourse of liberation and solidarity, but the structures necessary to create a new and different kind of society have yet to be built. What are the prospects for Venezuela after his death?

Wednesday March 13th, 730pm, The Youth Hostel Association, Narrow Quay, Bristol (next to the Arnolfini).

Hosted by Bristol South branch Socialist Workers Party.
