Hello all you wonderful people again!

Even with the freaky snow and ice winter wonderland weather we had for  January's Arc Nexus, it was well enough attended to make a good start!

Although as many of you weren't able to attend and expressed an interest in joining us and finding out more. We are holding a second event on Saturday 16th March at 3pm at the Arc 27 Broad Street in Bristol City Centre BS1 2HG to recap on last month and welcome new people!

This meeting will also be an opportunity for us to take the next steps!

For those of you who didn't get chance to read what this is all about  below is the original email I sent out very late last year!

Attached is the draft vision document presented last time for you to  feedback on by email by replying to me prior to or in person at our next Arc Nexus session  on the 16th of March!

Like last time there will be good wholesome vegetarian hot food provided free of charge although all donations are welcome!

A massive Thank you to Eddie for his delicious chestnut cottage pie last time which is heartily received :)

The agenda for our next Arc Nexus meeting is also attached feel free to  pass  on and welcome other people to share with us!

What is Arc?

The Arc is a five – (2 under-construction) floor multipurpose:  -health food restaurant - a concert- and event venue – workshop - performance
spaces - art gallery – theatre cinema,& meeting space and associated activities. The Arc is also the community centred around this physical hub location who can also communicate with one another through its website and online network such as www.arccommunity.net 

How does it work?

The building is run, managed, maintained by a not-for-profit all volunteer collective.

The Arc is managed by a not-for-profit membership led company limited by guarantee registered as Alien Coconut ltd. company’s number is 07532708

Financial income of this House left after running costs gets used to renovate the building to ecological standards, equip the housed workshops, provide volunteers with sustainable access to its facilities for social & professional development while also offering recognised certificated training according to their interests and work, cover of travelling costs, and remuneration where possible and where possible  support to cover expenses.

Who is it for?

The house is open to the public, its members of Alien Coconut and is for any person or group, campaign, or project that accords to the following ethical statement, house policies, and above core values and mission  Whether you're an unsigned band, independent artist, or an forward thinking activist the house is there for the people.

A house where raw talent can flourish, where all art forms and creatives can meet to make changes in a way we perceive and to enrich all our lives. Arc host a number of projects: Environment, Ethical, Intercultural, Social, Theatre, Workshop, Radio Station, Music Recording & Publishing, Film making etc. All public interest campaigning networks will be sustainably supported. From Human Rights, Animal Welfare, Global & Local Awareness, Social Responsibility, Social Justice, Sustainable Agriculture, Off Grid technologies, innovation, and Permaculture through to
Environmental & Energy Conservation.
Creative Development

Music

Alien Coconut will create database of music from local & participating artist work, from this database Alien Coconut will offer music for people to use and showcase through their business's. Revenue raised from this source will be proportionately distributed amongst the artists whose  work is shared. This way business's such as local cafes, bars & restaurants can play local music without paying other copyright collection agencies and keep these fee's in local circulation for local artists. All artist works will be credit and anytime  an artist want their work removed from a particular playlist, it will be with out question..

Venue

The Arc has Vegan & Vegetarian Food, Internet access, Hosts Live performance (comedy, theatre, bands, poetry, talk, demonstions etc.) Alien Coconut will ensure the building is sustable for the public and has an environmentally friendly ethos. Alien Coconut will assist in the production of shows, conferences, meetings and network socials to further its core values and mission.

Broadcast

Alien Coconut will stream live events on the internet to reach a wider audience. Alien Coconut will also help facilitate the production of pre-recorded multimedia content such as radio shows, films and music to be broadcast between live shows.

Alien Coconut
welcomes all creative interactions and is always open to exploring the
implementation of suggestions, new ideas, projects and facility developments
put forward by its members and the general public.
