The last couple months has seen slowly developing interest for an Anarchist Movement Conference 2009. After two public organising meetings a venue has been booked, and date confirmed. So far however Bristol and the south west's anarchists have been strangely uninvolved? Apart from a few emails sent around, and some posts on the Bristol anarchist bookfair site, there has been no Bristol presence at organising meetings. Admittedly, there has been/is a fair bit of meeting, organising and activity going on in these 'ere parts, and Bristol is well known for its self-sustaining and autonomous scene, so could it be we just dont see the need to go to London (again?) for a meeting? Well for those who ain't heard about it, here's the callout for the Conference, as lifted from the Bristol Bookfair and the Conference 09 sites: read full story / add a comment

THE DATE & VENUE FOR THIS EVENT HAVE CHANGED - NEW DETAILS BELOW Mohamed Elhaddad had a great send-off from Bristol last Friday to join the Viva Palestimna convoy to Gaza.. Even the Evening Post covered it – see http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/news/Dad-joins-mercy-mis....html. At the time of writing, the convoy is in Fes, Morocco. You can check it's current location at http://www.vivapalestina.org/. Bristolians have already shown their generosity by donating money for Mohamed to take to Gaza.
