south west / corporations / news report Tuesday October 27, 2009 22:40 by Fighting the [twisted] arms trade
Last week I attempted to write a piece amout arms taders in our community centres. Well, I'm very sorry to say that there's good reason they chose deprived areas inhabitated by refugees, many of whom are fleeing from war torn lands to do there 'team building' exercises in. BAE's guilty conscience is down to the fact that their latest evil, destroying work has resulted in yet more murder. BAE are continuing to make a killing out of war and human suffering. Again and again they sell arms to countrieswith appalling human rights records and the UK's government is allowing these deals to go through. It's criminal how much support the government gives to companies who are complicit in such atrocities. Act against BAE Bristol - these arms dealers are NOT WELCOME. read full story / add a comment

The strike by CWU members (http://www.cwu.org/) this Thursday and Friday looks set to go ahead, despite intense pressure and intimidation by Royal Mail bosses, the entire Government, all 3 main political parties, the CBI and every boss keen to exploit their workers for profit. On the sidelines, historic strikebreakers like TNT (remember the printers Wapping strike?), Manpower and other private companies hoping to benefit from the break-up of Royal Mail are licking their lips in anticipation. read full story / add a comment

Well, they may seem harmless now - just binge drinking and shagging there way through the 1st term - and occasional stealing a cone to put on Edward Colston head - but believe or not these people will be the ones who, without gentle persuasion will be leading socially destructive companies like BaE and EoN - and us into oblivion. read full story / add a comment

Waiting at the traffic lights on route to the park to enjoy a rest day after an intense week involved in the organisation of an event about Climate Justice here in Bogota, the captial of Colombia, an old man approached us. He was dressed as smartly as he could, dark suit, a tie and a felt hat, but he didnt look like your average suited man. Old, weather face by the sun that makes guessing ages very difficult, a calmness, resignation about him. He held a carefully handwritten sign in his hand, "please help my family, we are displaced from Bolivar( a region where there is huge amounts of palm planted) god bless you." read full story / add a comment
