Join us at Monkton Wyld Court for the long-awaited first meeting of our Organic Garden Group. Share skills and get your hands dirty with the Monkton gardeners in our lovely Victorian walled garden, and head home with some fresh produce for your troubles.

10am - 1pm on Thursday, May 7th. No experience required, all shades of green thumb welcome.

The people of Weymouth brought Two Mile Copse through public
subscription. Local people dug deeply into their pockets and put their money
into conserving the land for perpeturity, for us and all future generations.

Dorset County Council have so far not given one penny in compensation,
either to the Woodland Trust, nor local people who raised the public money
to preserve the wood in the first place.

Free International Firework Display

Complete a perfect day with a spectacular Free International Firework Display, fired from a floating platform in Weymouth Bay, with stunning views from the Seafront. The Fireworks are organised by the Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, sponsored by the Royal Air Force and operated by one of Britain's leading pyrotechnic companies; Pain's Fireworks. A recently set up protest camp to stop the destrcution of a ecologically sensitive woodland has had its eviction papers served. They can be evicted anytiem from Thursday, unless you van do anything about it. read full story / add a comment
