Main gallery, First Floor: Architecture Centre, Bristol 3rd November - 22nd November Easton is a vibrant, multi-cultural, yet deprived inner city ward in Bristol. This ward has seen a high level of organic regeneration due to its proximity to the city centre, most of which has occurred in an ad-hoc manner. An influx of young professionals and creative types has been juxtaposed with a host of derelict sites and a lack of sustainable local amenities. The Love Easton Urban Design Task Group was formed in February 2009 by a group of residents. It aims to create a strategic document for the Easton area to help transform it in a controlled manner, falling in line with the visions and aspirations of the local community and city wide policy. Their objective is to work in a small group to find pioneering and innovative ways to encourage the community to have their say and be involved in the consultation process to transform their neighbourhood. read full story / add a comment
