We are arranging a meeting with Bristol Parks to discuss these and will report back at the next BPF meeting on 11th October.

Global warming threatens our survival but we already have the technology to solve it. The fundamental problem is that the corporations and governments can’t or won’t act – because their pursuit of profit comes before any other consideration. read full story / add a comment

My dad is a poor (relatively speaking) pensioner living here in Bristol, and because of a heart condition feels the cold even when his children do not.

He suffers so severely that he has to have the gas fire turned on most days even in the summer months!

During the next 2 weeks, the Solitaire (the biggest pipe laying ship in the world) is set to begin illegally constructing the offshore section of the pipeline. It is believed that the Solitaire is on a pretty tight schedule & booked up for the next 2 years, so ANY disruption provides us with a real opportunity to delay the project significantly. read full story / add a comment

I have noticed huge debates breaking out on a couple of websites over global warming and the truth of it, I have also been spending (far too much) time of late reading about Creationism – the psudo-science idea pushed with a fanatical intensity by religious fundamentalists that the earth and all living things were created by god and thus evolution is not true. What has become increasingly obvious to me is that the denial of global warming and the denial of evolution are pretty much the same thing – a comfort-blanket against reality and so it is pointless debating with advocates of either point of view. read full story / add a comment
