Our emphasis is on helping people help themselves – as such, those wanting a bicycle come to our workshop in Stokes Croft and work on a bike of their choice. In doing so, we hope that they will learn new skills and develop a greater sense of their own abilities. Since December 2008 we have primarily been working with Refugees & Asylum-Seekers that have been forced to leave their native countries as a result of conflict and the threat of possible persecution and have given out over 70 recycled bikes to date, most of which would otherwise have gone to landfill. read full story / add a comment
